Iran’s Steel Industry Enters Global Arena with CE-Certified Products

In a significant development for Iran’s industrial sector, Mobarakeh Steel Company — the largest steel producer in the Middle East — has been awarded the CE certificate (European Conformity), confirming that the company’s steel products meet the European Union’s most stringent quality, safety and environmental standards

The certificate represents a milestone in integrating Iran’s steel industry into global value chains, particularly in European markets where the CE mark is a fundamental prerequisite for entry in key sectors such as automotive, construction, industrial equipment and household appliances.
Amir Aflaki, Director of Support and Marketing at Mobarakeh Steel Company, said: “Securing the CE certificate strengthens the international credibility of our products and elevates Iran’s position on the global stage. This achievement proves that Iranian manufacturers can fully satisfy international requirements without dependency on external sources.”
He added that the certificate opens new opportunities for Mobarakeh Steel Company to expand exports, attract new international partners and take a more active role in global projects.
MohammadAli Zamani, Head of Customer Technical Support at Mobarakeh Steel Company, outlined the rigorous process for obtaining the certification, which included:
comprehensive technical documentation
laboratory performance tests
safety and quality audits
environmental assessments and calibration
on-site inspections by accredited European notified bodies
“Earning the CE mark is not merely a formal requirement; it represents a transformation in systems, processes and mindset,” Zamani said. “This certification drives internal improvement and strengthens Mobarakeh Steel Company’s position as a reliable partner in competitive global markets.”
He emphasized that the success was achieved entirely through domestic expertise despite external constraints, reflecting the growing capabilities of Iran’s industry and national efforts to boost non-oil exports through high-quality, high-value products.
The accomplishment is the result of coordinated collaboration across all Mobarakeh Steel Company divisions, including ironmaking, rolling mills, R&D laboratories, quality control, marketing and senior management.
With CE-certified products now ready for international markets, Iran’s steel industry — relying on innovation, adaptability and a commitment to quality — has confidently entered the global stage.
