On the sidelines of the 27th Steel Symposium and Exhibition (Steel 404), the chairman of one of China’s leading companies emphasized the strategic role of Mobarakeh Steel Company in developing Iran’s and the Middle East’s steel industry. He stated that the company is moving forward with a pioneering approach toward green steel and development projects, while bilateral cooperation—ranging from rolling and casting to renewable energy—is expanding. According to an IRASIN correspondent, the chairman of the Chinese company, speaking at the 27th Steel Symposium and Exhibition (Steel 404), noted the growing cooperation with Mobarakeh Steel Company, saying: “Mobarakeh Steel is the largest steel producer in Iran, and following recent negotiations, we are enhancing our interactions compared to the past. At present, we are collaborating with Mobarakeh in two main areas: first, development projects spanning the entire value chain from upstream to downstream, including continuous casting and rolling; and second, initiatives related to green steel. Since Mobarakeh Steel is a national and regional leader in this field, several avenues of cooperation have been defined to help the company achieve its goals.” He added: “There has been a very positive response in this regard. We are cooperating on development and hot rolling projects, and negotiations are underway to extend this cooperation to cold rolling and other development initiatives. In the area of green steel, we were honored to participate in the solar power plant project and perform part of its maintenance work. Moreover, we have taken part in tenders for wind power plants, which will further increase Mobarakeh Steel’s share in green steel production.” Referring to Iran’s position in the Middle East steel industry, the Chinese chairman stated: “Iran, as the leader of the steel industry in the Middle East, has significant potential for further growth. Given that the steel industry has a long and historic presence in the country, we are confident that major projects are both underway and planned, and we firmly believe that Iran will continue to lead the Middle East’s steel sector.”
